This weekend French Quarter Fest 2019 kicks off and you will not want to miss out!
Who remembers the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans? I was only about 8 years old, but I remember the commercial….
“There’ll never be…..another chance to see….the ’84 World’s Fair”
And guess what? I never got to see it. :(
But this weekend, Chevron is bringing YOUR kids on a trip around the world with the STEM WORLD’S FAIR exhibit at the French Quarter Fest!
As New Orleans celebrates its Tricentennial, Chevron will showcase 300 years of innovation at French Quarter Festival. We’re excited to partner with organizations like Project Lead The Way, Rebuilding Together New Orleans and Fab Lab NOLA to teach children about science, technology, engineering, art and math,” said Chevron Gulf of Mexico Public Affairs Manager Leah Brown. “The Chevron STEAM Zone has fun, interactive learning stations that show kids how these subjects play a vital role in their future success and have contributed to area’s our history. We’re proud to once again bring The Chevron STEAM Zone to French Quarter Festival 2018.”
Saturday and Sunday, from 11am – 5pm, head to the Natchez Wharf on Toulouse Street and check out the fascinating, interactive exhibit just for your kids!
This year’s activities will showcase each of the 7 continents, and the galaxy, while incorporating the elements of “STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) into hands-on learning activities for children. Community partners include: Chevron, Audubon Nature Institute, The Water Institute, Project Lead the Way, FabLab NOLA, National WWII Museum, Rebuilding Together New Orleans, Mad Science LA, STEM NOLA, Children’s Museum of St. Tammany, The Nature Conservancy, and the National Parks Service. Learn about the world and enjoy performances for kids and families on the National Park Service Stage!
